Michael D. Hovar, AIA

Michael Hovar joined Amtech in 2007 as project manager. He oversees architectural design and the daily functions of the McAllen office.

Prior to joining Amtech, Hovar was president and founder of Architecto Mida. He has also worked for Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, a Virginia architecture and engineering firm; Ricke Ogden Architects in Houston; and Engineers and Planners in McAllen.

Hovar received a master’s degree in architecture design from the University of Texas in 1987 and a bachelor’s degree in architectural studies from the University of Illinois in 1982. He is a registered architect and interior designer in the state of Texas. Hovar is a member of RCI, Inc., American Institute of Architects, Construction Specifications Institute, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, the National Roofing Contractors Association and the Lower Rio Grande Valley American Institute of Architects.
